A sterling silver Arts & Crafts triangular openwork pin/pendant featuring a central cabochon carnelian surrounded by faceted teardrops of chrysoprase and chalcedony set amongst slender silver leaves. When worn as a pendant, the carnelian-set bale is at the top and when worn as a pin, it hangs as a drop from the bottom. Attributed to Bernard Instone, English, circa 1920.

Bernard Instone was an English Arts & Crafts jeweler working in the early part of the twentieth century. He drew much of his inspiration from nature, and many of his pieces have the slender leaves and delicate round seed pods seen in the frame of this piece.
