Delightful Edwardian Opal and Diamond Cluster Ring
Item No. RMO0900050
A very pretty 18K yellow gold Edwardian cluster ring comprised of a central cabochon opal in a sparkling diamond frame, with split shoulders. English, hallmarked 1906.
Edwardian jewelry is typified by delicate pieces designed to match the lace and feminine fashions that were popular at the time. Fashion was dominated by white, and jewelry was correspondingly dominated by diamonds and pale colored stones. The combination of diamonds and opal is a perfect example of the soft colors so popular at the turn of the century. Opal is also the birthstone for October, making this a lovely birthday or Mother’s Day gift.
