A 14K yellow gold retro A.E. Köchert swirl design bangle bracelet with six cabochon-cut amethyst stones, accented with six small rubies. Austrian, circa 1940.
A.E. Köchert is a jewelry firm that was founded in Vienna, Austria in 1814. They became the court jeweler to the imperial royal family in 1831, and the founder, Alexander Emanuel Köchert, became the emperor's personal jeweler in 1868. A.E. Köchert is still in business today. Bracelet contains six buff-top medium dark, strong bluish purple cabochon amethysts (total estimated weight: 18 carats, tone/saturation: 6/5, clarity: SI Type I) and six oval faceted medium dark, strong slightly purplish red rubies (total carat weight: 0.90 carat, tone/saturation: 6/5, clarity: VS Type II).
