A mixed metal Aesthetic Movement signed Shiebler bar pin in the Japanese style comprised of two offset sterling silver plaques, one featuring a golden spider and the other featuring a group of copper and silver leaves. American, circa 1880.

Shiebler was an American silversmith who started his own firm in 1876. He began with flatware and gradually moved into jewelry and silver objects. He is especially known for his pieces based on the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum, which featured antique-style classical medallions. The firm was out of business by 1915.
